2027: C’River Group Eyes 1m Votes Each For Tinubu, Otu

By Nsan Ndoma-Neji, Calabar

A group of young people operating in Cross River State under the aegis of ‘Prince Otu Is Coming’ has vowed to deliver one million votes each to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

To drive that goal, the group has scheduled a “mother of all rallies” in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State for Saturday, April 18.

Speaking to journalists in Calabar on the proposed rally, the Director General, DG of the socio-political group ‘Prince Is Coming Movement,’ Chief Emmanuel Ironbar, who also doubles as the Chief of Staff, CoS, to the governor of Cross River State said the event was aimed at realising the target.

He said, “With the opposition practically dead in the state, the duo would have a smooth return to their respective offices early next year.”

Chief Ironbar commended President Tinubu for key federal interventions in Cross River State, citing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project and the proposed deep seaport, saying they would boost economic growth and reposition the state nationally.

Ironbar added, “Tinubu deserves a second term, Nigerians should stop political blackmail.
Asiwaju is embarking on infrastructural projects and he is taking care of students with the student loan scheme amongst others. He deserves a pat on his back and must return to the office.”

He added that Governor Otu had changed the state’s trajectory, saying, “We all know that in Cross River, Governor Otu has changed the ugly narrative of the past. His performance across sectors speaks for itself.”

The CoS averred that the administration has recorded significant strides, including widespread road construction, employment opportunities and improvements in public services, adding that the state was witnessing a renewed sense of direction.

Also speaking, the chairman of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee for the rally and Special Adviser, SA, on General Duties, Chief Ekpenyong Akiba, said the adage that one good turn deserves another should be practical in every sense in the forthcoming elections.

In his remarks, the state Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Prince Eka Williams, who is also a member of the group, promised to do everything within his reach to ensure that he mobilizes people at the grassroots within his constituency to secure votes for President Tinubu and Governor Otu.
