The senators representing Ondo South senatorial district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Jimoh Ibrahim, has delivered a valedictory speech on the Senate floor following his confirmation as a non-career ambassador.
Recall that Ibrahim was among the 64 ambassadorial nominees confirmed by the Senate on December 18 after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s nomination.
Addressing his colleagues after coming under order 42 (personal explanation) during the plenary, Ibrahim thanked the leadership of the 10th Senate, describing the chamber as liberal, inclusive and focused on national development.
He said, “I must sincerely appreciate the effort of this chamber and, more importantly, the leadership of the 10th Senate under your very able leadership.”
Reliable sources claimed that Ibrahim is tipped to be Nigeria’s permanent representative in the United Nations.
