We’re Foot Soldiers For Tinubu, Otu, Ekpenyong, C’River South Youth Wing Boasts

By Nsan Ndoma-Neji, Calabar

The youth wing of the Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Campaign Organisation has declared itself as foot soldiers for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu and Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group made the declaration at the weekend in Calabar during a media parley to flag off its grassroots campaign across the seven local government areas of Cross River South senatorial district.

Convener of the youth wing, Obong Ekpe Eyo Ita Okon, said that the members are not just supporters, but committed partners in the political project of Senator Ekpenyong, who made history as one of the youngest senators elected in 2023.

Okon said, “We are not just here as supporters, we are here as partners and stand-up believers. While the lawmaker is trying to move motions, trying to facilitate passage of bills, we, his foot soldiers, are back home canvassing support for him and all the APC members.”

Also speaking, the Director of Media and Publicity of the youth wing, Prince Charles Ekanem, said that the early kick-off of campaign activities is aimed at ensuring total victory for their preferred candidates in 2027.

Ekanem said, “We are kick-starting activities, especially the campaign period. We are beginning with the youth wing of the senator to ensure that candidates of our choice return to office.”

The youth wing endorsed President Tinubu for a second term, Governor Otu a second tenure for his People First Agenda and youth inclusion and Senator Ekpenyong for re-election, alongside all APC National and state Assemblies candidates in the district, insisting on APC five over five.

The group also unveiled its youth-focused engagement strategy, which includes deployment of free Starlink internet services in tertiary institutions such as Unical, UNICROSS and College of Health Technology, and at campaign grounds, to enable young people to own the campaign structure.
